1. Register for classes:
You can register for classes online through MyUW, and you will need your student ID number and password to log in. Be sure to choose your classes carefully, as you will be enrolled in them for the entire semester.
2. Get your student ID:
Your student ID card is your key to accessing many campus services, so it's important to get it as soon as possible. You can pick up your ID card at the Campus Card Office in Terrell Hall.
3. Arrange for on-campus housing:
If you plan to live on campus, you will need to submit a housing application and reserve a room. For more information, visit the Housing & Food Services website.
4. Pay tuition and fees:
You can pay your tuition and fees online through MyUW. Be sure to submit your payment by the deadline to avoid late fees.
5. Buy textbooks:
You can buy textbooks online through the UW Bookstore or in person at the bookstore on campus. Be sure to order your textbooks early to ensure that you have them when classes start.
6. Order your UW email address:
To access all of the features of UW Gmail, you will need to create a UW email address. You can do this online through MyUW.
7. Connect with the UW community on social media:
Follow the UW on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat to stay up-to-date on campus news and events.
8. Attend orientation events:
Orientation is a mandatory event for all new students, and there are several different types of orientations depending on your major and where you're from. For more information, visit the Orientation website.
9. Tour the campus and find your way around:
Take a tour of campus and learn about all the different buildings and services available to students. You can also find maps of the campus online or in the Husky Guidebook app.
10. Packing:
