Visit your doctor for confirmation of pregnancy and to discuss any health concerns.

Begin setting up the nursery with furniture, clothing, and other baby gear. Join a prenatal class if desired.
3. Month 3:
Make sure to get adequate rest, nutrition, and exercise during this period as well as attend regular check-ups with your doctor or midwife.
4. Month 4:
Start taking childbirth classes to prepare for labor and delivery and consider touring hospital birthing centers in the area.
5. Month 5:
Consider registering at a baby registry store; start researching car seats and strollers; create birth announcements; begin planning the Baby Shower if you plan to have one.
6. Month 6:
Begin packing your hospital bag and make sure you are up-to-date on all prenatal vitamins and appointments.
7. Months 7-9:
Continue preparations for the birth, including attending a refresher childbirth class; attend any remaining doctor's visits or check-ups; do some last-minute shopping for nursery items and baby gear; get the car seat installed in the car; finish preparing your baby registry if not already done so.
8. Month 10:
Make final preparations for labor and delivery, including writing down instructions for a friend or family member who will be taking care of things back home while you’re away at the hospital.
