H4 Document Checklist

1. Passport:

Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the United States.

2. Form DS-160:

This is the online nonimmigrant visa application form that you will need to fill out.

3. Visa Fee Payment Receipt:

You will need to pay a visa application fee before your interview, and you will need to provide proof of payment at the interview.

4. Marriage Certificate:

This document is required to prove your relationship with the H1B visa holder.

5. H1B Visa Holder’s Documents:

You will need to provide a copy of the H1B visa holder's passport, visa, and I-797 approval notice.

6. H4 Visa Application Form:

This form will need to be filled out and submitted along with your other documents.

7. Photograph:

You will need to provide a passport-style photograph that meets the U.S. visa photo requirements.

8. Financial Support Documents:

You may need to provide proof of financial support, such as bank statements or income tax returns, to demonstrate that you can support yourself during your stay in the United States.

9. Educational and Work Experience Certificates:

You may need to provide documents to demonstrate your educational qualifications and work experience.

10. Proof of Ties to India:

You may need to provide proof of ties to India, such as property documents or proof of employment, to demonstrate that you have strong ties to your home country and are likely to return after your stay in the United States.
