1. Officiant
When choosing an officiant, be sure to consider their personality, as you'll want someone who will make your wedding feel personal and special. Also, be sure to ask if they have any restrictions (e.g. only marrying couples of a certain religion).
2. Venue
When choosing a venue, you'll need to consider the size of your guest list, as well as the type of atmosphere you're hoping to create. Some venues are better for more formal weddings, while others are better for more relaxed affairs.
3. Caterer
The caterer you choose will play a big role in the overall look and feel of your wedding day, so it's important to take your time in selecting one. Be sure to ask for samples of their food so you can get a sense of what they offer.
4. Musicians/DJ
Hiring musicians or a DJ can really set the tone for your wedding day. Be sure to listen to samples of their work so you can be sure that you're happy with the sound they'll create.
5. Photographer
A good photographer can capture all the little moments that make up your wedding day, so it's important to choose someone who you trust implicitly. Ask to see examples of their previous work to get a sense of their style.
6. Videographer
Like a good photographer, a good videographer can capture all the important moments from your wedding day on film. They usually charge by the hour, so be sure to get an estimate upfront so there are no surprises later on.
7. Florist
The florist you choose will be responsible for creating beautiful floral arrangements for your wedding day. Be sure to ask to see examples of their work so you can get an idea of their style.
8. Cake Baker
Your cake baker will be responsible for creating the wedding cake of your dreams. Be sure to ask to see examples of their work, and be sure to let them know if you have any specific flavor or design requests.
9. Rentals (tables, chairs, linens, etc.)
If you're renting any items for your wedding day (e.g. tables, chairs, linens), be sure to get a firm estimate from the rental company so you know how much it will cost.
10. Transportation
If you're planning on providing transportation for your guests, be sure to get a few quotes from different companies so you can compare prices. Keep in mind that you'll need to factor in the cost of gas and/or parking as well.
