1. Dust all surfaces:
Before you start dusting, make sure you gather all the supplies you need. This includes a dust cloth or feather duster, a wet rag, and a bucket or container to put the dirty water in. Start by dusting the furniture and then move on to the walls and ceilings. Be careful not to miss any spots.
2. Vacuum all carpeted areas and furniture:
Make sure you use the right attachment for your vacuum cleaner depending on what you are vacuuming. For carpeted areas, use the attachment that looks like a brush. For furniture, use the crevice tool to get into all the cracks and corners.
3. Wipe down all countertops:
Start by wetting your cloth in hot soapy water and then wringing it out well. Wipe down all of the countertops in your kitchen and bathrooms using circular motions. Be sure to get into all the corners and crevices.
4. Clean the stovetop and oven:
Before you start cleaning these appliances, be sure to unplug them and disconnect them from the gas line if they are gas appliances. Then spray them down with a degreaser or oven cleaner and let them sit for a few minutes. Use a scrub brush or sponge to scrub them clean and then rinse them with hot water.
5. Scrub the bathroom tile and grout:
Mix some hot soapy water in a bucket and then dip your scrub brush into it. Scrub the tile and grout in your bathroom until it is clean. Be sure to get into all of the nooks and crannies.
6. Polish the mirrors and chrome:
Use a soft cloth to polish all of the mirrors and chrome in your home. This will help remove any smudges or fingerprints.
7. Vacuum the mattresses and clean the bedding:
Use the upholstery attachment on your vacuum cleaner to vacuum all of the mattresses in your home. Be sure to also clean any bedding that is removable such as pillowcases, sheets, or blankets.
8. Wash all windows and blinds:
Start by gathering your supplies which should include a bucket, sponge, window cleaner, squeegee, and rags or paper towels. Wet your sponge in the bucket of soapy water and then wring it out well before starting to wash the windows. Use circular motions when washing them and be sure to get into all of the corners. Once they are clean, use the squeegee to remove all of the water.
9. Empty out the refrigerator/freezer and scrub inside:
Remove all of the food from your refrigerator and freezer and put it in a cooler or another storage container. Then take everything out of the fridge and scrub it down with hot soapy water. Be sure to get into all of the nooks and crannies. Let it air dry before putting the food back in.
10. Clean the ceiling fans:
Turn off your ceiling fan and then use a dust cloth or feather duster to dust all of the blades. Be sure to also dust any light fixtures that are attached to the fan.
