1. ACT Admission Ticket.
An ACT admission ticket is required for entry into the test center. It should include the student's name and other identifying information as well as the test date, time, and location. The ticket should be printed out in advance and verified to make sure it is accurate prior to arriving at the testing center.
2. Acceptable Photo ID.
Acceptable photo identification must be presented at the test center in order to gain entry into the testing room. This can include a valid driver’s license, state-issued identification card, passport, or school-issued photo identification.
3. Two No. 2 Pencils With Erasers.
Two No. 2 pencils with erasers are required for writing on the answer sheets and filling out the multiple-choice responses on the test booklet. Mechanical pencils are not allowed and pens cannot be used for any portion of the exam.
4. Approved Calculator.
A scientific calculator is needed for some portions of the ACT test and students must bring their own. A list of approved calculators can be found on the ACT website.
5. Mask.
A mask must be worn at all times while inside the test center, including while taking the exam. It is important to bring a few extra masks just in case one gets lost or damaged during the day.
6. Bag (Optional).
Students may choose to bring a bag with them for storing items such as snacks and drinks or other study materials. However, it is advised that any bags be left outside of the testing room since they are not allowed inside due to security reasons.
7. Watch (Optional).
Though not required, it might be helpful for students to have a watch with them during the exam in order to keep track of time. This can be particularly useful since there are no breaks on the ACT.
8. Drink and Snack (Optional).
Hydration and nutrition are both important for test takers to stay focused on their exams, so students may choose to bring non-alcoholic drinks and snacks with them. These items should be left outside of the testing room as eating or drinking is not allowed inside.
