1. Application for Permanent Residence (Form I-485).

2. Evidence of Financial Support: Form I-864 Affidavit of Support and Proof of Income.
This form is used to prove that the applicant has sufficient financial resources to support themselves and their family in the United States. The affidavit must be signed by an appropriate sponsor who meets certain income requirements outlined on the USCIS website.
3. Proof of Relationship (if applicable): Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, or Adoption Decree.

13. Copy of the Valid Visa Status.
If the applicant is filing for an adjustment of status based on a valid visa status, they must include a copy of their current visa with their application.
14. Written Statement from Applicant Explaining Circumstances Surrounding Entry.
The applicant must provide a written statement explaining the circumstances surrounding their entry into the United States.
15. Supporting Documentation to Prove Eligibility.
If the applicant is applying for a Green Card based on eligibility for non-immigrant status, they must provide supporting documentation to prove their eligibility.
16. Supporting Documents Relating to Family Status.
If the applicant is applying for a Green Card based on family status, they must include supporting documents such as birth certificates and marriage certificates to prove their relationship.
17. Two Completed G–28 Forms.
Two completed G–28 forms must be included with the application. The first form must be signed by the applicant, and the second form must be signed by their attorney (if applicable).
18. Receipt for Filing Fees.
The applicant must include a receipt for the filing fees paid to USCIS. The amount of the fee varies depending on the type of application being submitted.
19. Immigration Bond as Necessary.
If the applicant is required to post an immigration bond, they must include the necessary documents with their application.
