1. Make the bed:
Make sure to pull the sheets straight, fluff the pillows, and tuck in the blankets.
2. Do laundry and put away clean clothes:
Sort clothes into categories before washing, such as whites and colors. Then hang up or fold clothes after they’ve been washed.
3. Vacuum or sweep floors:
Vacuum carpets, mop hardwood or vinyl floors, and sweep corners for dirt.
4. Dust surfaces:
Dust shelves, counters, and other surfaces with a dust rag or electrostatic cloth to remove dust and allergens.
5. Wipe down bathroom fixtures, mirrors, and countertops:
Use a disinfectant cleaner to wipe down sinks, toilets, tubs, showers walls and flooring. Use glass cleaners or vinegar-water solution to clean mirrors and countertops.
6. Empty trash cans and replace bags:
Empty all garbage cans in the home into a larger bag that can be taken out of the house for disposal. Replace plastic liners in the trash cans and tie up the bags.
7. Take out the garbage:
Put on gloves and a mask before taking out full garbage bags to an outside bin or dumpster.
8. Clean windows and mirrors:
Use window cleaner or vinegar-water solution to clean all glass surfaces, including windows and mirrors. Wipe down frames with a damp cloth.
9. Clean kitchen appliances, such as stovetop, oven, refrigerator, and microwave:
Clean cooktops with stainless steel polish or baking soda paste; clean ovens with baking soda paste; wipe down refrigerator shelves with a damp cloth; clean microwaves inside and out with disinfectant wipes or spray cleaners.

Wash dishes by hand or load them into the dishwasher if available.
12. Sort through mail to dispose of junk mail and recycle other materials:
Dispose of junk mail directly into garbage bags; sort remaining items for recycling according to local guidelines.
13. Sweep patio or deck areas if applicable:
Sweep away dirt and debris from outdoor areas using a broom or leaf blower.
14. Trim landscaping if necessary:
Trim trees, bushes and other plants as needed to maintain a neat appearance. If applicable, use a leaf blower or sweeper to remove leaves or other debris from the lawn.
