1. Set Goals for the Year Ahead
Start planning and setting goals for the upcoming year to plan and stay organized.
2. Review Performance
Take a look back at what went well in the past year, and identify areas where improvements can be made in the coming year.
3. Update Documents & Policies
Revise any documents or policies that will need updating to reflect changes in laws or regulations over the year.
4. Check Equipment & Supplies Inventory
Make sure any necessary supplies are adequately stocked up before year-end.
5. Clean Up Files & Organize Data Storage
Purge unnecessary files/data from storage locations and organize remaining items into more efficient structures.
6. Review & Update Budgets
Make sure financial plans are on track and updated with the most recent information.
7. Prepare Tax Documents
Gather any documents needed for filing taxes, such as W-2s, 1099s, and other tax forms.
8. Hold Year-End Meetings
Have staff meetings to review performance in the year gone by and set goals for the coming year. This is also an excellent opportunity to thank team members for their hard work throughout the year and plan employee recognition activities going forward.
