A child should be able to read confidently and fluently by the end of first grade. They should be able to read aloud with proper pronunciation and intonation, and they should be able to understand what they are reading.
2. Writing:
A child should be able to write legibly in a variety of genres by the end of first grade. They should be able to write simple sentences, paragraphs, and stories, and they should be able to use proper grammar and spelling.
3. Math:
A child should be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide efficiently by the end of first grade. They should also be familiar with basic concepts such as fractions and decimals.

A child should have a basic knowledge of music theory and history by the end of first grade. They should also have experience listening to and analyzing different types of music.
8. Physical Education:
A child should engage in physical activity for at least 60 minutes per day by the end of first grade. They should participate in a variety of sports and activities that promote fitness and health.
9. Personal and Social Development:
A child should be able to manage their emotions and behavior in positive ways by the end of first grade. They should also be able to establish and maintain healthy friendships.
