This is the electronic form that is filled out and submitted as part of the visa application process. It confirms the personal information of the applicant and the details of the visa application.
2. Birth certificate
This document is required to prove the identity of the applicant.
3. Police certificates
These are required for anyone who has lived in a foreign country for more than 6 months in the last 5 years. They must be issued by the police department in the country where you resided. The purpose of this document is to confirm that you have no criminal record in that country.
4. Evidence of financial support
This can be demonstrated with an Affidavit of Support, which is a document signed by the U.S. citizen sponsor that confirms that they will be financially responsible for their fiancé(e) during their stay in the United States.
5. Proof of relationship
This can be shown with documents such as photos, emails, letters, or any other form of communication between the U.S. citizen sponsor and their fiancé(e).
6. Fee payment
The fee for applying for a k1 visa is $265 USD. This must be paid at the time of application.
7. Passport
The applicant must have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the date of their planned travel to the United States.
8. Divorce or death certificates
If the applicant has been previously married, they must provide proof of the dissolution of that marriage through either a divorce decree or a death certificate. If there are children from a previous relationship, additional documents may be required.
9. Sealed medical exam
The applicant must have a medical examination completed by an authorized doctor, who will then seal the results in an envelope. This envelope will be given to the applicant to bring to their visa interview. The purpose of this exam is to ensure that the applicant is not inadmissible to the United States on medical grounds.
10. Two 2×2 photos
These are passport-style photographs that are required as part of the visa application process. They must be taken within 6 months of the date of the visa interview.
