Before scheduling your visa interview, you must fill out the online Form DS-160, also known as the Nonimmigrant Visa Application. This form provides essential information about you and your intended trip to the U.S.
2. Passport valid for at least six months beyond your intended travel date:
Ensure your passport is up-to-date and will remain valid for at least six months after your intended arrival in the United States.
3. Birth certificates for both you and your fiancé/fiancée:
Original or certified copies of birth certificates for both you and your fiancé/fiancée must be included to prove your identities.
4. Evidence of a genuine relationship:
Include photographs, emails, letters, or any other documents that demonstrate the authenticity of your relationship with your fiancé/fiancée.
5. Police clearance certificates:
Obtain police clearance certificates from all countries where you've resided for six months or more since turning 16.
6. Medical examination results and vaccination records:
A medical examination conducted by an approved panel physician is required. Make sure you have your vaccination records as well.
7. Evidence of financial support:
Include an Affidavit of Support (Form I-134) from your U.S. sponsor, demonstrating their ability to financially support you during your stay in the U.S.
8. Proof of a non-refundable visa application fee payment:
Ensure you have proof of payment for the visa application fee.
9. Divorce or death certificates:
If either you or your fiancé/fiancée was previously married, provide divorce or death certificates to establish your marital history.
10. Evidence of intent to marry within 90 days:
Prepare documents that demonstrate your intent to marry your U.S. fiancé/fiancée within 90 days of your arrival in the United States.
