Terraria Pre-Hardmode Checklist

1. Obtain a world in hardmode difficulty:

In order to transition to hardmode, the player must first obtain a world in hardmode difficulty. This can be done by starting a new world and selecting the hardmode difficulty from the World Menu.

2. Build a base with a protected area:

A base is important for players in hardmode because it serves as a safe haven where players can retreat when things get tough. The base should be well-protected so that enemies cannot easily gain access to it.

3. Create or obtain an Artificial Heart:

The Artificial Heart is an important item required for entering hardmode. It can be created by combining 10 Life Crystals at an anvil, or it can be obtained from bosses dropped in hardmode.

4. Collect at least one of each type of ore:

In order to craft the Pwnhammer – required for breaking The Wallpaper blocking off the Dungeon entrance – the player will need to collect at least one of each type of ore. Ore can be found by destroying certain blocks in the environment or by defeating enemies.

5. Craft the Pwnhammer:

The Pwnhammer is a powerful weapon that can be used to break The Wallpaper blocking off the Dungeon entrance. It can be crafted by combining 1 Hammer, 5 Iron Bars, and 20 Wood at a workbench.

6. Destroy The Wallpaper blocking off the Dungeon entrance:

The Wallpaper blocking off the Dungeon entrance can be destroyed with the Pwnhammer or any other powerful weapon. Once destroyed, the player will have access to the Dungeon which contains valuable loot and bosses that must be defeated in order to progress further into hardmode.

7. Enter the Dungeon and defeat Skeletron Prime to obtain the key to the locked door in The Underworld:

Skeletron Prime is a boss that can be found in the Dungeon. He must be defeated in order to obtain the key to the locked door in The Underworld which leads directly to Hardmode.

8. Defeat all three bosses in The Underworld – King Slime, Eater of Worlds, and Brain of Cthulhu – to unlock access to Hardmode:

In order to unlock access to Hardmode, all three bosses in The Underworld must be defeated – King Slime, Eater of Worlds, and Brain of Cthulhu. These bosses are not easy to defeat so players should come prepared with powerful weapons and armor.

9. Obtain a powerful weapon and armor set:

In order to progress through hardmode, players will need to obtain a powerful weapon and armor set. These can be crafted by combining materials found in hardmode or purchased from NPCs.

10. Be prepared to face the new challenges of Hardmode:

Hardmode is significantly more difficult than softmode and players will need to be prepared for the increased challenge. New dangers await players in hardmode, so it is important to be fully prepared before making the transition.
